STAFF PLAYERS REPERTORY COMPANY PRESENTS THE BRILLIANT ONE-ACT FESTIVAL MAY 2-18
Staff Players, at the Indoor Forest Theatre, will take you on a wonderful journey through the land of one-act masterpieces. For three weekends in May three remarkable short looks at humanity will alternate: opening Friday, May 2 & Saturday, May 3 at 8 p.m., Sunday May 4 at 2:30 p.m. Shows continue through May 18.
SPRC will open with “A Well Remembered Voice” by Sir James Barrie – one of his ghostly and touching short pieces on the lost child from WWI. Following intermission an enormous reversal will present Chekhov’s famous farce “The Marriage Proposal.”
The second weekend will open with Thornton Wilder’s deceptively simple look at American family life in the 20s and 30s in “The Happy Journey to Trenton and Camden,” featuring three performers from the same family!
The third weekend will begin with “Hap
py Journey,” followed by “A Well Remembered Voice” and “A Marriage Proposal.”
A gifted group of old hands and newcomers includes Philip Pearce, Troy Patterson, Victoria di Bartolomeo, Peter Eberhardt, Logan Parsons, Phillip Corrigan, Jane, Patricia and Joe Rudy and Barbara Metz.
The plays have been directed by Nick Hovick and Jane Press. Tickets are $16 general admission, $12 for students/military and seniors. Tickets for children are $6 for those 12 under. SPRC has been offering gems of the classical canon for almost four decades in the little theatre downstairs from the outdoor stage in beautiful Carmel. This cozy 60 seat theatre is perfect for presentation of great theatre with a personal touch. SPRC has launched many a local actor over the years and continues to please audiences and train future generations of actors in classical theatre. Single ticket prices for Staff Players productions are $16 general, $12 for
students/seniors, and $6 for children 12 and under; CET students and subscribers

Staff Players Repertory
Company is the
oldest continually producing theatre company in Carmel. Founded in 1969,
Staff Players has been dedicated to producing theatre classics, ancient and
modern - from Euripedes to Ugo Betti - and including much of Molière and Shaw.
Many of the original members are still part of the company, and open auditions
continue to add new talent.
All performances are at the Indoor Forest Theatre in Carmel-by-the-Sea at Mountain View and Santa Rita. Thursday - Saturday at 8:00 p.m., Sunday at 2:30 p.m. Tickets are on sale at the box office (624-1531) or may be purchased on-line.
Staff Players is a major support for the work of Children's Experimental Theatre, a training program in theatre skills to develop creative confidence in children 6-18. Many CET alumnae have returned to share their gifts with the Staff Players Repertory Company.
